Clear Ear
Overview
The Total Ear Care System (TEC) is a cost-effective set of instruments designed to provide easier, safer, and faster care for a range of outer ear procedures. TEC is the first and only ear care system designed for simultaneous visualization, irrigation, suction, and tooling. TEC is an end-to-end solution for total in-office ear care from prep cleaning of the ear canal, to a diagnosis of an ear condition, to treatment.

At my internship at Exodesigns, I was involved in the beginning phase of this project. I was included in the meeting with the client and the engineers while we brainstormed ideas. With whiteboard sketches and mock-ups, I help develop the basic shape and ergonomics of the handheld device.
Handpiece Shape
The handpiece was designed for stability. While wrapping the ambidextrous handpiece in between the thumb and the index finger, you want the palm against the head. This will be easier to tilt and target compared to if it had a handle.
